Wanted: Entrepreneurs, Leaders and Visionaries
"We back true risk takers."
- Jedd Canty
In February of 2009 I lost my job. It was during the recession.
And like many Americans, I was left broke with barely a dollar to my name, yet a mountain of debt and a house I was on the verge of losing.
Despite having two degrees (from a less than stellar South Florida college) and what I considered a fairly decent resume, I couldn't even land an interview for an entry-level job.
So out of desperation, I opened my laptop and started my first business - an internet marketing "agency."
And to keep the lights on my wife, who was already working 40-hours a week, took a second job.

Since then, I've helped sell over $1 billion for my clients online, transformed numerous unknown books into New York Times bestsellers and helped two companies soar to 9-figures in annual revenue.

Long story short...

I understand what it's like to be a founder who has a vision and the guts to take risks when your back is against the wall.

I know what it's like to bootstrap a business and watch it grow exponentially. And I know that hard work is never enough.
There are a lot of very smart people out there with great ideas and big dreams. They work 18-hours a day, seven days a week. They have a plan. They execute it to perfection.
They follow all the rules. And yet their business fails.

That's reality.
I understand that, without a few lucky breaks here and there, my story could've been much different.

My wife and I might be struggling to get by. We might not have three children. We might not have co-founded our cannabis-lifestyle brand Hashstoria.

We might not have co-founded CitizenGrown, a powerful startup that is on a mission to transform the cannabis industry to one that is more fair and just.
And we wouldn't be board members and major donors to various causes that support children's health and education, fighting climate change and protecting the environment.

I'll never forget where I came from, what it took to get here, who helped me, and how fortunate I am to be in this position.

Which is why, in June of 2016, I launched Canty Ventures to provide financial support and guidance to startups, whose founders aren't afraid to take risks.

Because maybe, just maybe, we can be one of their lucky breaks. You can see our current portfolio here.

And if you're a founder and you think we can help you achieve your dreams, do not hesitate to contact us.

To Your Success,
